Get to Know…Gilbere Forte
|
And that’s just how he’s going to do it – which I know is a vague way of hinting at information I shouldn’t divulge. So far, MTV, Vans, Karmaloop, Tom’s Shoes, Diplo, and Don Cannon have noticed. He’s collaborated with Florence Welch, ADELE, Alex Clare, and Miguel. He’s put out 87 Dreams and Eyes of Veritas independently. While the résumé continues, his music itself aims and succeeds at telling the stories of many. These stories embrace positivity, endure through negativity, and thrive on the mantra that “Impossible is a lie.” Gilbere has prioritized being forthcoming, relatable, and most of all, excellent. I am confident that Gilbere’s abilities to produce and rap will earn him a top spot among hip-hop’s elite, based on his storytelling alone, yet supported by his charisma and work ethic. If you need to be convinced, download all of music free on his bandcamp here. (below photos are from my shoot with him as well as his live performance for the release of Eyes of Veritas at Hall of Fame Ltd. on Fairfax in Los Angeles) |

Not too long ago I had the pleasure of interviewing and photographing Gilbere Forte in Venice. The interview is gone now due to a faulty flash drive, but the photos survived. Here’s what you need to know: Gilbere is one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met, with a plan to launch his career precisely the way that he wants to. Every detail – whether it be his releases, his collaborations, his press, or otherwise, is part of a larger timetable that will undoubtedly yield hit songs and next-level performances.
